February is a significant month at Montrose Regional Health as we join the nation in recognizing American Heart Month. This period serves as a reminder of the importance of cardiovascular health and the proactive steps people can take to prevent heart disease. Montrose Regional Health is proud to promote heart health awareness and provide comprehensive care for our patients!

Montrose has a track record of being blessed with very skilled heart health providers. In addition to our already amazing Cardiology team, we are excited to welcome Dr. Mojgan Arashvand to MRH in March. Dr. Arashvand is a highly skilled cardiologist who has dedicated her career to caring for patients with heart issues. Most recently she worked in Fargo, North Dakota, primarily serving in the hospital providing comprehensive care to patients who required inpatient treatment. Her responsibilities included conducting various tests and procedures to assess heart health, such as echocardiograms (a way of taking pictures of the heart), checking heart rhythms, and monitoring heart activity over time.

In addition to her hospital work, Dr. Arashvand established her own preventive cardiology clinic in Texas, focusing on helping people avoid heart problems before they started. She was also involved in educating future doctors as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, where she shared her expertise with internal medicine residents.

Before settling in Fargo, Dr. Arashvand gained valuable experience working at different hospitals across the country, including in Indiana and California. Her journey to becoming a cardiologist began in Texas, where she received her bachelors in Chemistry at Austin College, followed by doctorates at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center. She next completed her Cardiology fellowship at Midwestern University, St. James Olympia Fields Medical Center in Illinois.

The MRH Cardiology team is proud to provide a range of services aimed at promoting heart health in our community. Through advanced diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), stress tests, and echocardiograms, our team is able to assess your heart function accurately. Should issues arise, our team offers interventions like angioplasty and pacemakers. Additionally, they prioritize preventative care, educating individuals on lifestyle modifications for heart health.

Montrose Regional Health is proud to lead the way in heart health for our communities. If you need assistance, our Cardiology Services is accepting new patients. Please call (970) 252-2950 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
