Meet Our Board of Directors

The Board of Directors (the “Board”) has overall responsibility for the Hospital’s operation and patient care. The Board consists of eleven members and all Board members serve for four-year terms. Board meetings are not open to the public.

Dr. Michael Brezinsky

Dr. Michael Brezinsky is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician originally from Chicago, Illinois who was elected to the MRH Board of Directors in 2015.  He attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and went on to attend medical school at Loyola-Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics, where he also served as a Chief Resident from 1996-1997. He and his wife, Christine, have 5 children and have lived in Montrose since 1997. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, doing medical mission work in impoverished countries throughout the world and fly fishing.

Dr. Kjersten Davis

Dr. Kjersten Davis is an equine veterinarian originally from San Francisco, California who was elected to the MRH Board of Directors in 2014. With an undergraduate degree from Cal Poly she obtained her veterinary degree from the University of California, Davis.  After working in Pennsylvania and California, she settled in Montrose.  She and her husband, Kevin, have two grown sons.  Kjersten is interested in community service and serves, or has served, on different boards, including the Montrose and Olathe School Board, Center for Mental Health and the Montrose Community Foundation. In her free time, she rides horses and loves to run our local trails.

Reid Fishering

Reid Fishering

Reid Fishering owns Mountain Quality Farms, a small business that specializes in local farming, harvesting, and logistics of Olathe sweet corn, asparagus and onions in the Uncopmpahgre valley. He grew up in Montrose before attending college at the University of Colorado in Boulder. After receiving a business degree in Finance, Reid spent 10 years in New York City working in the finance industry trading energy commodities.

Yearning for a less crowded pace of life, Reid and his wife, Meredith, moved back to Montrose in 2016. They have two 2 children, Reagan and Thatcher. They enjoy skiing, Crossfit, and working on the farm when kids’ activities do not intervene.

Kaye Hotsenpiller

Kay Hotsenpiller

Kaye Hotsenpiller joined the board of Montrose Regional Health in 2022.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management.  Kaye designed and directly managed the Child and Family, Adult, and Youth Programs in Montrose, Delta, and Mesa counties for Hilltop for the first 24 years of her career. Kaye is the current CEO of River Valley Family Health Centers.  The organization provides medical, dental, emotional health and pharmacy services to the Montrose and Delta communities.  She and her husband have 4 children and one granddaughter.  In her free time, she is an avid reader, cyclist, and loves doing anything outdoors.

Dr. Joel Lee

Jack Johnston

Jack Johnston has been the CEO of the Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) and President of its wholly owned fiber-to-the-premise subsidiary, Elevate Internet, since January 2023. Prior to his tenure at DMEA/Elevate, Jack served as the CEO of Southeast Colorado Power Association and its broadband subsidiary, SECOM. He has a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Texas, El Paso and a Masters from the London School of Economics. He currently serves on the Montrose Regional Health Board of Directors as well as the Montrose Economic Development Council Board of Directors. He has prior experience working with the Pueblo West Metropolitan District/Utility Enterprises, the Historic Arkansas River Authority & Foundation, and AT&T. Jack joined the MRH Board in December of 2023

Zander Parker

Zander Parker was reappointed to the MRH Board of Directors by the Montrose County Commissioners in March 2026, following several years of prior service on both the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors at Montrose Regional Health. A seasoned financial professional and Certified Public Accountant, Zander brings more than 15 years of experience and holds CPA licensure in both Colorado and Texas. He earned his Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas State University before building a diverse career across public accounting, industry, and private equity. After relocating to Montrose in 2016, he established his own firm, Parker Consultants. Outside of his professional endeavors, Zander enjoys spending time at his family cabin in Ridgway, Colorado, as well as fishing, hiking, cycling, and entertaining his two dogs.

Selvin Sandoval

Selvin Sandoval was elected to the MRH Board of Directors in 2022. Selvin brings a unique perspective to the table. Born in Guatemala, he moved to Montrose, CO with his family when he was a teenager, where he began his career in construction. Over the years, Selvin’s reputation for quality work, technical expertise, and business acumen grew, earning him the respect of colleagues, clients, and competitors alike.
In 2002, Selvin founded their own construction business, which quickly established itself as a leading player in Montrose. Under his leadership the company has grown and diversified, taking on a wide range of challenging projects and delivering exceptional results. His unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and professionalism has earned him a loyal client base and a reputation as a trusted partner in construction.

Joe Simo

Joe Simo has been a dedicated educator and community leader in Montrose County for over 20 years, serving in roles from classroom teacher to principal. Joe earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Education from Adams State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership. He most recently completed coursework in the Superintendent program at Western State University. Joe currently serves as Principal at Centennial Middle School, where he oversees operations for a campus of 600 students and leads a team committed to academic excellence and student wellbeing. He has secured over $1 million in grant funding for school improvements and innovative instructional programs. Joe’s leadership has helped Centennial earn the Colorado School to Watch designation for nine consecutive years and recognition as a Colorado School of Innovation. In 2018, he was named Colorado Secondary Principal of the Year. Deeply rooted in the Montrose community, Joe has lived in the area for more than 20 years and raised his family here. He is committed to fostering strong partnerships and supporting our community’s success.

Dr. Mary Vader

Dr. Mary Vader is number seven out of 11 children born and raised on a ranch in Gunnison and was elected to the MRH Board of Directors in 2013.  She studied medicine at North Texas State University and Pediatrics at St Joseph’s Medical Center in Phoenix. The western slope called her back and she joined Pediatric Associates in 1990. She specializes in child abuse and neglect and provides forensic exams and consultation for the 7th Judicial District. A passion has been to take vacation time to participate in medical missions all over the world which she has done for 26 years. Mary is active in local community service and started a foundation called the Helping Hand Fund, part of the Montrose Community Foundation.
