Event features specialty service line booths, affordable blood testing, and opportunities to learn about healthcare services available close to home
MONTROSE, Colo. (July 14, 2026) – Montrose Regional Health's annual Blood Draws and Health Fair returns Aug. 1-8, culminating in a free community Health Fair on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Montrose Pavilion. The event offers free skin spot checks, hearing screenings, and oral cancer screenings, along with opportunities to connect with local healthcare experts, learn about MRH specialty services, and access affordable blood testing.
The event will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, from 6:30 to 11 a.m. at the Montrose Pavilion. Community members will have the opportunity to visit booths hosted by many of MRH's specialty service lines and learn more about the programs, services, and resources available through MRH.
Participating departments include the Digestive Health Center, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Center, Spine & Pain Center, Urology Clinic, Cardiology, San Juan Cancer Center, Family Center, Mountain View Therapy, Medical Imaging, and other programs. Caregivers will be available to answer questions, provide educational information, and help community members better understand treatment options, specialty programs, and support services available through MRH.
"Many people know the event for the discounted blood draws, but the Health Fair offers much more than laboratory testing," said Katie Klossner, director of marketing and public relations at Montrose Regional Health. "We want people to leave with a better understanding of their health and a greater awareness of the healthcare services available close to home."
For more than 37 years, MRH's annual Blood Draws and Health Fair has helped thousands of community members take a proactive approach to their health through affordable laboratory testing, early detection, and health education.
Participants can choose from a variety of discounted laboratory tests, including the popular HealthScreen Panel, which provides a broad overview of cholesterol, thyroid function, kidney and liver function, iron levels, electrolytes, and other key health indicators. Additional testing options include an Advanced Lipid Panel, hemoglobin A1c, PSA screening, vitamin testing, hormone testing, blood typing, and more.
Blood draws will be offered at multiple locations throughout the region:
-
Saturday, Aug. 1: Ridgway Event Center (7-10 a.m.)
-
Monday, Aug. 3: Olathe High School Gym (6:30-9:30 a.m.)
-
Wednesday-Friday, Aug. 5-7: Montrose Pavilion (6:30-9:30 a.m.)
-
Saturday, Aug. 8: Montrose Pavilion during the Health Fair (6:30-11 a.m.)
Due to ongoing wildfire response efforts in Ouray County, the Ridgway Event Center is currently serving as an incident command center. The Aug. 1 blood draw event remains scheduled as planned; however, participants are encouraged to visit montrosehealth.com/healthfair for the latest updates regarding event locations and schedules.
Online registration is encouraged for all blood draw locations at montrosehealth.com/healthfair to reduce wait times and streamline check-in. Walk-ins will not be accepted Aug. 5 or 6. Event updates, including any wildfire-related changes, will be posted at montrosehealth.com/healthfair.
MRH extends sincere thanks to its 2026 Health Fair sponsors: Alpine Bank, Elevate, Mountain West Insurance, and TEI Rock Drills.
For those participating in blood draws, a 12-hour fast is recommended. Participants should drink plenty of water and continue taking medications as usual. Those using hormone creams or hormone sublingual tablets should not apply or take them on the morning of their blood draw.
For full event details and registration, visit montrosehealth.com/healthfair. Those needing assistance with registration may also call 1-800-217-5866.

Stewart recognized for compassionate leadership and commitment to supporting fellow caregivers
MONTROSE, Colo. (July 13, 2026) – Montrose Regional Health (MRH) announced that Tiffany Stewart, caregiver engagement manager in Human Resources, has been named the recipient of the 2026 Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) Mike Williams Award, which recognizes hospital employees who demonstrate exceptional compassion, service, and commitment to their colleagues and communities.
Previously known as the Dan Wilford Award for Compassion and Community Service, the award was renamed to honor Mike Williams, Community Hospital Corporation's first employee and longtime CEO, who led the organization from 1996 to 2017. During his tenure, Williams helped nearly 100 hospitals strengthen operations and better serve their communities.
"Being born and raised in Montrose, this community means everything to me," Stewart said. "I'm truly honored to be recognized for serving this community alongside the amazing caregivers I work with every day. I'm incredibly grateful to be part of Montrose Regional Health."
Stewart was nominated by Bill Milner, former director of Human Resources at MRH, who highlighted her dedication to supporting caregivers and fostering a positive workplace culture.
"Tiffany consistently exceeds expectations in her role and embodies the highest standards of community involvement and personal integrity," Milner wrote in his nomination. "She takes the time to build trust and create a supportive environment for caregivers. Her strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and genuine concern for others make her a trusted and respected member of the team."
Other MRH nominees for the 2026 CHC Mike Williams Award included Rebecca Ehmsen, Laboratory; Megan Maddy, Mountain View Therapy; Rachael Paradis, Laboratory; and Amanda Reiff, Family Center.
The CHC Mike Williams Award is presented annually to recognize hospital employees who exemplify compassion, service, and leadership in support of their organizations and communities.

Additional pulmonologists will provide coverage while Hersh serves on temporary Air Force assignment
MONTROSE, Colo. (July 7, 2026) — Andrew Hersh, M.D., a pulmonologist at Montrose Regional Health (MRH) and a member of the U.S. Air Force for 19 years, has been deployed on a temporary military assignment. He is expected to return in November.
"We're incredibly grateful for Dr. Hersh's service to our country and equally committed to ensuring our patients continue receiving the high-quality pulmonary care they expect from MRH," said Jeff Mengenhausen, CEO of Montrose Regional Health.
Patients with existing appointments should plan to keep their scheduled visits unless contacted directly by the clinic. MRH Pulmonology continues to provide robotic navigation for lung nodule cancer diagnostics without interruption. Patient evaluations, lung nodule workups, and diagnostic testing will continue throughout Hersh's deployment. The clinic will also continue evaluating pulmonary valve patients, with procedures tentatively scheduled following his return.
During Hersh's deployment, board-certified pulmonologists Heather Howe, M.D., and Bruce Suckling, M.D., along with visiting pulmonologist Rage Geringer, M.D., will provide coverage to ensure continuity of care. Howe will assume Hersh's lung nodule diagnostic responsibilities, with support and mentorship from Geringer, a NOAH Robotics superuser recognized for achieving one of the nation's highest first-pass diagnostic yields using robotic bronchoscopy. Geringer will focus on supporting the clinic's advanced diagnostic program rather than seeing clinic patients. Suckling will provide additional support for both diagnostic procedures and outpatient clinic care.
Howe has more than 15 years of medical experience and has provided pulmonary care in partnership with Montrose Regional Health for four years. Before joining MRH in March 2026, Suckling spent more than 20 years practicing pulmonary medicine in Colorado Springs. Both are board-certified pulmonologists. Geringer is a pulmonologist at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and is board-certified in pulmonary medicine and critical care. He has more than eight years of experience in pulmonary medicine. He was recently named an "Early Career Rising Star to Watch" by CHEST Magazine.
The expanded physician coverage allows MRH to continue offering advanced pulmonary diagnostics locally, helping patients avoid unnecessary travel for specialized lung nodule evaluation and care.
