Ridgway School District helps keep Aug. 1 blood draw event local despite wildfire response efforts

MONTROSE, Colo. (July 27, 2026) – Montrose Regional Health (MRH) has announced a new location for its Ridgway Blood Draws on Saturday, Aug. 1, as the Ridgway Event Center is currently the incident command center for ongoing wildfire response efforts in Ouray County. Thanks to the generosity of the Ridgway School District, the event will now be held at Ridgway Elementary School, 1115 Clinton St., Ridgway, from 7 to 10 a.m., allowing the annual community event to remain in Ridgway.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Ridgway School District for stepping in on such short notice,” said Katie Klossner, director of marketing and public relations at Montrose Regional Health. “Their willingness to open their doors means Ridgway residents can continue participating in this year’s blood draws without traveling to another community. It’s a wonderful example of neighbors helping neighbors during a challenging time.”

Additional blood draw locations include:

•     Saturday, Aug. 1: Ridgway Elementary School, 1115 Clinton St., Ridgway (7-10 a.m.)
•     Monday, Aug. 3: Olathe High School Gym (6:30-9:30 a.m.)
•     Wednesday-Friday, Aug. 5-7: Montrose Pavilion (6:30-9:30 a.m.)
•     Saturday, Aug. 8: Montrose Pavilion during the Health Fair (6:30-11 a.m.)
Participants can choose from a variety of discounted laboratory tests, including the popular HealthScreen Panel, Advanced Lipid Panel, hemoglobin A1c, PSA screening, vitamin testing, hormone testing, blood typing, and more.
