MONTROSE, CO – General Surgeon Dr. Michael McCann, D.O. FACS, FACOS will be presenting a free educational seminar for the public titled “Hernias & Your Health.” The presentation will be held in Montrose Regional Health’s Conference Rooms A&B on Tuesday, June 4 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. All members of our communities are invited to attend. No reservation is required.

“Experiencing a hernia can sometimes be confusing,” said Dr. Michael McCann, General Surgeon at Montrose Regional Health. “Depending on your situation, your age, and your lifestyle – you may need surgery, or you may be able to just wait and watch the situation. I hope this presentation can be a helpful resource for people in our communities who have questions.”

Hernias can take many different forms and cause varying amounts of pain. Dr. McCann’s presentation will break down and explain the various types of hernias people experience. The presentation will include how to identify the different types of hernias, which can heal on their own, and what solutions are available.

A portion of the presentation will include a discussion of the minimally invasive options available, including the daVinci Xi Surgical Robot. The daVinci Xi is a robotic-assisted surgical system that allows the surgeon to perform safer, more precise operations that result in less pain and faster recovery for the patient.

A question & answer session will take place at the end of the presentation to address any questions and provide additional information for attendees. For more information about the presentation or to schedule an appointment with Dr. McCann, contact his office at 970-497-5979.
