Minimally invasive specialist brings advanced spine care to Montrose, helping patients avoid travel and long recovery times.
 
MONTROSE, Colo. (May 21, 2025) – Montrose and surrounding communities will soon have access to advanced spine care close to home, as board-certified spine surgeon Dr. Rasheed Abiola looks forward to joining the MRH Spine and Pain Center on June 9, 2025.

Dr. Abiola has 9 years of experience in the field of spine surgery, with expertise in minimally invasive, motion-preserving, robotic, and complex spine surgeries designed to achieve outstanding results for patients. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago, Illinois, and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). He completed his Orthopedic Spine Surgery Fellowship at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah and his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Abiola’s specialized training will help more patients in Western Colorado find relief from back pain, spine injuries, and degenerative conditions.
 
Before transferring to the MRH Spine & Pain Center, Dr. Abiola practiced as an orthopedic spine surgeon at Mendelson Kornblum Orthopedics at Synergy Health Partners, located in Troy, Michigan. “The majority of spine conditions can be treated without surgery,” Dr. Abiola said. “My goal is to thoroughly explore all non-surgical options and only consider surgery when those options have been fully exhausted.”
